Toilet Lid Sink

Real Goods is selling a toilet lid sink that allows you to wash your hands with clean water that than goes into the tank. Some people consider it disturbing, but I think it's a great idea. When Keith gets home, I'll ask him if he wants to include it in our bathroom plans.

We had the privilege of hearing Jane Goodall speak at Google this week, and she mentioned that more water is used in a single toilet flush than many Africans make use of (for drinking, washing, etc.) in a day. We're not going to stop flushing toilets, but I'm delighted to find a way to cut back on water use without sacrificing hygiene.
