New carpet
We're leaning toward getting Unique Carpet's Focus to replace the carpeting that had to be removed after the recent rains. Speak now or forever hold your peace.
Yes, we want carpet because part of the area is staircases. My mom requested carpet to keep the stairs springy, and my sister-in-law pointed out that uncarpeted stairs are noisy.

Are you sure you want carpet and not pergo or hardwood?
If you are leaning towards carpet, I like that one. It's simple and a lot can be done around it.
